Birds add well traveled skater
Ryan Williams has a new junior hockey home.
Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have obtained the 2001 birth year forward from the Richmond Royals of the Central Canada Hockey League 2 in a cash exchange.
Williams played for three teams during the 2019-2020 season — including Cochrane Crunch and Elliot Lake Wildcats of the NOJHL and Richmond of the CCHL-2 — with modest results.
He managed one goal, one assist, two points in 13 NOJHL games between Cochrane and Elliot Lake before netting four goals, two assists, six points in 15 outings with Richmond.
