Flint Firebirds have now signed two of their top picks from the 2021 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.

The most recent commitment to Flint is forward Ethan Hay, who was the Firebirds third round pick from the AAA Waterloo Wolves.

“We are excited that we have received a commitment from Ethan,” Firebirds president of hockey operations and general manager Terry Christensen said of the 6-foot-1, 185 pound Hay. “He’s going to help bolster our center ice position and we are looking forward to getting him to Flint for training camp.”

Hay, in saying hey to Flint, said he is “striving to be an impact player for the Firebirds.

“I think this is a great fit for me. Flint does an amazing job at looking after and developing its players. I can’t wait to get started,” Hay added.

Earlier, as Hockey News North had reported, big defenseman Tristan Bertucci committed to the Firebirds.

Bertucci, who was taken by Flint with the seventh pick of the first round at the 2021 OHL priority selections process, has spent two seasons with the Toronto Marlboros of the Greater Toronto Hockey League.
