Suffice to say that they like ’em big up in Dryden. For starters, no less than 17 players on the current 24-man roster of the Dryden Ice Dogs of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League are at least six feet tall.

And of those 17, seven of them are at least 6-foot-5 in height.

Ice Dogs who are 6-foot-5 or taller include forwards Bryce Benfield, Cameron Ware, Tristan Takats and Levi Noltcho, defenseman Max Rath and goalies Eric Clark and Mason Matthew. Rath is the tallest Ice Dog at 6-foot-7.

Meanwhile, the smallest player on the Ice Dogs is 5-foot-9 forward Maxime Collette, who not only leads Dryden in scoring but is the top producer in the seven-team SIJHL with 24 goals, 16 assists, 40 points in 24 games.

As a team, Dryden is seeded fourth in the hotly contested upper chamber of the SIJHL with 33 points from a record of 16-9-1.
