T-Birds deal Ty Doucette

Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have moved on from their third leading scorer in a trade deadline transaction.

Tyson Doucette, a 17-year old forward, has been dealt by the NOJHL West Division-leading Thunderbirds to the Aurora Tigers of the Ontario Jr. Hockey League in a cash exchange.

Thunderbirds general manager Jamie Henderson told Hockey News North that Doucette and his family had asked for a trade to the OJHL.

The 5-foot-10, 160 pound Doucette had 15 goals, 12 assists, 27 points in 23 games for the Thunderbirds this season. As a 16-year old rookie during the abbreviated 2020-2021 season, Doucette had five goals, six assists, 11 points in 20 games.
