Disano has dizzy numbers

Gavin Disano stands in at a mere 5-foot-9. But the 2003 birth year goalie has stood tall for the Blind River Beavers through his first three starts of the 2022-2023 Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League regular season.

A Sault Ste. Marie product, Disano has a perfect record of 3-0-0 to go with a 1.33 goals against average and .960 save percentage for Blind River. Notably, two of Disano’s wins have been against the East Division leading Timmins Rock.

And it is not as though Disano has had an easy workload in the three games. Fact is, he has faced 101 shots in 180 minutes of work and made 97 saves. This is Disano’s second full season playing in Blind River.

The Beavers are thus far in a torrid race for first place in the NOJHL’s West Division with the Soo Eagles, Espanola Paper Kings and Sudbury Cubs.
