Lady Cougars win another
Simply sensational. As in, make that four national championships in succession for the powerhouse Sault College Cougars’ women’s hockey program.
As they prepare to move up to the Division 1 level of the American Collegiate Hockey Association effective the ’26-27 season, the Lady Cougars capped a roaring run at the ACHA Division 2 degree with yet another championship.
In an all Canadian final in what is mainly an all American school based league, Sault College edged Assiniboine College of Manitoba in the title tilt.
Sault College scored the game’s only goal one minute into the championship match on a tally by Payton Stos. The Lady Cougars then held on as Sault College goalie Farrah Farstad stopped all 29 shots she faced to fashion the shutout.
Stos was named the most valuable player of tournament after netting two goals, three assists five points in five tournament games.
