Way to go, Tyler Diluzio
A good kid from a good Sault Ste. Marie family had a hockey weekend to remember while standing tall as an affiliate player for the Under 15 AA Sudbury Jr. Wolves — and against his hometown Soo Jr. Greyhounds no less.
Called up by the shorthanded U15 Jr. Wolves as an AP for three games against the U15 Jr. Greyhounds, forward Tyler Diluzio totalled two goals, three assists, five points as Sudbury won twice and earned a tie against the Soo.
Unceremoniously cut by the U15 AA Jr. Hounds coaching staff before this season despite three years of dedication and loyalty to the 2011 age group AA program in the Soo, Diluzio clearly showed that he is an AA caliber player with a standout performance for the Jr. Wolves of Sudbury.
Diluzio had a goal and an assist to begin the weekend as the Jr. Wolves routed the Jr. Hounds by a 7-2 score. He added another assist in a 2-2 tie and then capped the series in style by scoring his second goal of the weekend and earning his third assist as the Jr. Wolves cuffed the Jr. Hounds by a 5-2 margin.
Thus, the well coached Jr. Wolves left Sault Ste. Marie by earning five of six points from the Jr. Greyhounds in what will no doubt go down as a AA hockey weekend to cherish for young Diluzio, who is playing at the A level in the Soo this season — while holding his head high.

Smells of typical Soo politics in our hockey brain trusts Randy. I have no idea who is in charge of Soo Major and could care less but they should be going into the dressing rooms with no team staff and ask why our players boys and girls are leaving the Soo for other hockey destinations.
It could be the wake-up call needed as discontentment among the players and families (of which I am not one) as development of skills and promotion are truly lacking among some of these staffs.
We need to make this a viable hockey destination with trust again for players and their families.
No one else has an opinion on the state of hockey in our community? Major reason that it continues to fail our youngsters. Crowding around in the lobbies at rinks whining and b’ing does not solve any issues facing Sault Major and your families.
Get a sensible united voice now to improve the hockey programs futures. It is in the best interest of your children and their futures in hockey on and off ice development.
