Big thrill for local Habs fan
With due respect to local radio legend Lou Turco, Mark White is also one of the biggest Montreal Canadiens fans in Sault Ste. Marie.
Talk to White any time of the day at any time of the year and the conversation will undoubtedly include major mention of his favourite National Hockey League team.
White, to be sure, is a happy guy these days with the Canadiens having just eliminated their arch-rival Boston Bruins in the seventh-and-deciding game of the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
White has extra reason to be happy in that he and his girlfriend, Mary Ann Rankin, were in Montreal for Game 6 of the series with Boston and had seats 10 rows back of the Canadiens bench.
Montreal won Game 6 to force what would be the Game 7 victory.
And that’s not all.
White happened to run into former Canadiens forward Yvon Lambert outside the Bell Centre and had his picture taken with the old Hab.
