Brett Findlay is a Kelly Cup champ
Alaska Aces have a connection to Echo Bay, Ont. on their East Coast Hockey League championship team of 2013-2014.
Brett Findlay, a 1992 birth-year winger from Echo Bay who advanced from the Sault Major Hockey Association ranks to the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League with Blind River Beavers to three full years in the Ontario Hockey League with Soo Greyhounds and Peterborough Petes despite never being drafted, is in his first full season as a pro.
And Findlay capped off his rookie pro campaign earlier this week by winning the Kelly Cup with Alaska, which he joined after the San Francisco Bulls folded midway through this season.
In all, Findlay had a strong rookie term as a pro with San Francisco-Alaska, scoring 22 goals, 32 assists, 54 points in 69 regular-season games before putting up another 11 points in 19 playoff matches en route to winning the Kelly Cup title with the Aces.
