The cardiac kids completed an improbable comeback to win the Sault Ste. Marie boys high school hockey championship. Korah Colts overcame a 3-1 third period deficit on Thursday to score a stunning 5-3 victory over the Central Algoma Huskies in the fifth and deciding game of the title series.

Earlier in the week, Korah tied the series at two games apiece with a third period rally to force Game 5.

In Thursday’s title tilt, Griff Albert sparked Korah with two goals while Sammy Caruso, Koen Manchulenko and Tyler Lang tallied once apiece. Manchulenko’s goal was the game winner. Scoring star Brady Kleist scored all three goals for Central Algoma.

An overflow crowd estimated at about 500 spectators took in the Game 5 match at John Rhodes Community Center.

Korah now advances to the NOSSA high school hockey championship tournament in North Bay, which is slated for March 4-6.
