Sault High Blue Devils will continue a 10-game regular season slate tonight with a road match.

The Blue Devils are in Escanaba to play the Eskymos in what will be the third outing of the COVID-19 delayed, 2020-2021 season for Sault High.

Having now played two games in a season that finally began on February 10 relative to COVID-19, Sault High has three more matches slated for this month — including tonight — and another five in March.

Playoffs will then begin on March 15 as part of a state format in which all high school hockey teams in Michigan qualify for the post season.

Sault High began the season with a pair of games last week, scoring a 2-1 home ice decision over the Cheboygan Chiefs before losing 7-3 on the road to the Gaylord Blue Devils.

Luke Eagle and Jory Homminga scored for Sault High in the win over Cheboygan while Jack Swan, Dominic Cicco and Aaron Kogan tallied for the Blue Devils in the loss to Gaylord.

As for tonight’s game in Escanaba, start time is 6:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Eagle 95.1 radio and http://EagleRadio951.com with Tim Ellis calling the play by play with commentary from Clayton Ellis.

The Sault High game will air following tonight’s edition of the Hockey North Show on Eagle 95.1 with yours truly. The Hockey North Show begins at 5:00 and is broadcast live from Reggie’s Place Tavern in downtown Sault, Ontario.
