It is a Sault Ste. Marie gem in the Canal District — a covered outdoor rink, complete with artificial ice and dressing rooms in an adjacent nearby building that also features the Blockhouse Pub.

Owned and operated by innovative local businessman Tony Porco, ‘The Rink’ has become a go to place for organized scrimmages and practises for teams of all ages while also catering to simple recreation and fun.

Rented by the hour, it is not only a local jewel but the ‘The Rink’ is the envy of communities across northeastern and northwestern Ontario.

One of the local groups that has utilized ‘The Rink’ over the past 10 Thursday nights features a number of 10-year old players who got together under the supervised watch of local minor hockey coaches to engage in 50 minutes of 3-on-3 action.
