Korah is best of the North
Korah Colts are Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association boys high school hockey champions. And they worked two overtime frames to bring the crown to Sault Ste. Marie by virtue of a 2-1 victory over the Sudbury St. Charles Cardinals.
Griff Albert scored Korah’s first goal in the title tilt, equalizing the match with a third period tally after Adam Urso had given St. Charles a 1-0 lead with a second period marker.
Deago Campagna delivered the championship winning goal in the second minute of the second overtime to send Korah to NOSSA glory. The win capped a perfect tournament for Korah, which won all four of its games at the NOSSA event, which was held in North Bay.
With the NOSSA triumph, Korah will now represent Sault Ste. Marie and Northern Ontario at the all Ontario boys high school hockey championships, which are slated to take place in Sudbury from March 18 to 20.
