Sault Ste. Marie product Gage Evans is continuing his development with the Windsor LaSalle Vipers of the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

Evans has one goal, three assists, four points and 33 penalty minutes in 23 GOJHL games for LaSalle thus far this season. LaSalle is in first place in the Western Conference of the GOJHL.

Still growing and now at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds, the hulking defenseman with a 2006 birth date was a 14th round pick by the Windsor Spitfires from the Soo Jr. Greyhounds of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League at the 2022 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft. Evans, who then spent the 2022-2023 season with the Windsor Zone of the Under 18 Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario, remains on the radar of the OHL Spitfires.

Notably, his dad, Cory Evans, played for the Spitfires from 1993 to 1995 after being acquired in a trade with the London Knights. A hustling, hard-hitting howitzer of a left winger, the elder Evans was originally drafted by London in the seventh round of the 1991 OHL priority selections draft.
