Soo Eagles coach-general manager Bruno Bragagnolo says a good team can never have enough good defencemen.

Ergo, Bragagnolo did not hesitate in bringing hard-boiled hombre Pat Gazzillo back to the Eagles when the opportunity presented itself.

Gazzillo, a 5-foot-10, 180 pound, hot-blooded Italian from Crown Point, Indiana, recently returned to the Eagles after spending the 2013-2014 season with the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League.

Gazzillo is expected to be in the lineup this weekend when the 5-5 Eagles play host to the Minnesota Wilderness in Friday (7:30) and Saturday (7:00) night games at Pullar Stadium.

A tough customer with good skills who is hard to play against, Gazzillo played in 65 games — playoffs included — for the Eagles during the 2012-2013 North American Hockey League season.

“We like who we have on the blueline but when Pat called us and told us it wasn’t working out where he was at and he wanted to know if we would take him back, it was an easy decision,” said Bragagnolo.

“Pat is a kid who plays with an edge. He is a tough kid who battles hard and who is not easy to play against,” Bragagnolo added.
