1997 birth-year forwards Frankie Pucci and Cole Lussier continue to be a one-two scoring punch for the Soo Indians major midgets.
Despite having missed six games this season, Pucci leads the Indians in scoring.
Not only does the little pucker Pucci top the Indians scoring chart with 52 points, he hit the 20-goal mark on the weekend.
In total, Pucci — who is an Ontario Hockey League draft pick of the Erie Otters — has 20 goals, 32 assists, 52 points in 42 games this season.
Pucci’s 52 points have him just ahead of Lussier, who has 22 goals, 27 assists, 49 points in 48 games.
Pucci and Lussier were teammates with the Soo Thunder minor midgets in 2012-2013.
As for the 2013-2014 Indians, they swept two games from the visiting Detroit Falcons on the weekend to improve their record to 26-19-3.
The Indians are home for two more games this coming weekend.
They will face off against Lake Forest Prep Academy Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Both games will be played at Taffy Abel Arena, on the campus of Lake Superior State University.
At the end of the month, the Indians will head to Lansing for the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association’s state championships.
