Ritchie opts for Sault College

Sault Ste. Marie product Jordan Ritchie is planning to forgo his final season of Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League eligibility. The 2001 birth year defenseman will stay in the game but also go to school.

Ritchie has committed to the Sault College Cougars, who play within the Division 2, American Collegiate Hockey Association as the only Canadian school.

He has enrolled in the Police Foundations program at Sault College for the fall semester.

The likeable 6-foot-1, 195 pound defender who is known for his good work ethic and being the consummate team player, skated in the NOJHL the past two seasons.

Ritchie suited up for the Elliot Lake Wildcats (now Elliot Lake Red Wings) in 2019-2020 before becoming a dependable defenseman for the Espanola Express during the abbreviated 2020-2021 season.
