Sault College Cougars of the Division 3, American Collegiate Hockey Association have recruited another high-end skater for the 2017-2018 season.

HockeyNewsNorth.com has received confirmation that forward Austin Rowe, who led the Sault Ste. Marie high school hockey loop in scoring the past two seasons as a member of the repeat champion St. Mary’s Knights, will be suiting up for Sault College in the fall.

Rowe’s intent to attend Sault College and play hockey for coach Mike Hall’s Cougars follows earlier commitments from forward Ryan Vendramin and defenseman Andrew Trowbridge.

A Sault Ste. Marie product, Vendramin is a former scoring sensation with the erstwhile Soo North Stars major midgets who went on to play with the Sarnia Legionnaires of the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League and the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League.

And Trowbridge is fresh from three full seasons with the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League. Trowbridge is a Blind River area product who was a part of the Beavers dramatic turnaround from a winless season of two years ago to a team that made it to the NOJHL championship series this spring.
