Sault College men on a roll
Home at last. Sault College Cougars men’s hockey team played its first home games since the onset of the Covid pandemic this weekend.
And on the home ice of Rankin Arena, the Sault College men scored 5-2 and 4-2 wins over the Lake Superior State University Lakers. The Cougars, who are members of the Division 2, American Collegiate Hockey Association, have now won four straight games to improve their record to 7-9-0 for the 2022-2023 season.
Charly Murray, who is the head scout and recruiter for the Sault College men’s team, noted the exceptional performances of several of the Cougars during the two wins over LSSU.
“Three of our forwards, Caleb Wood, Ethan Esposito and Gregory Trudel-Paquet, were standouts for us as were both of our goalies, Cedric Joubert and Zachary Tarantini,” Murray told Hockey News North. “And our defensemen played great.”
A total team effort from our guys. A shout out to the Cougar women’s team for sweeping the 1st place Assiniboine College also this week-end.
