Sault College via Timmins
Defenseman Kevin Lanoix, who hails from the northeastern Ontario town of Timmins, has committed to the Sault College Cougars of the American Collegiate Hockey Association for the 2017-2018 season.
The 20-year old Lanoix played parts of three seasons for his hometown Timmins Majors of the Great North Midget Hockey League before embarking on a junior career that took him to three leagues.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defender suited up for the Cambridge Winter Hawks of the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League, the Iroquois Falls Eskis of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and the Napanee Raiders of the Provincial Jr. Hockey League.
The 2017-2018 campaign will mark Sault College’s first official season as members of the ACHA. The Cougars competed at the Division 3, ACHA level on an exhibition basis in 2016-2017, taking part in 12 games and winning 5 of them.
