A 10-game regular season to be followed by the playoffs is what has been set up for the Sault High Blue Devils.

Having now played two games in a 2020-2021 regular season that finally began on February 10 relative to COVID-19, Sault High has three more matches slated for this month and another five in March.

Playoffs will then begin on March 15 as part of a state format in which all high school hockey teams in Michigan qualify for the post season.

Sault High began the season with a pair of games last week, scoring a 2-1 home ice decision over the Cheboygan Chiefs before losing 7-3 on the road to the Gaylord Blue Devils.

Luke Eagle and Jory Homminga scored for Sault High in the win over Cheboygan while Jack Swan, Dominic Cicco and Aaron Kogan tallied for the Blue Devils in the loss to Gaylord.

Next up for Sault High is a road contest against the Escanaba Eskymos on Wednesday night.

Start time is 6:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on Eagle 95.1 radio and http://EagleRadio951.com with Tim Ellis calling the play by play with commentary from Clayton Ellis.
