Shoemaker Extravaganza
Soo Pee Wee Hockey League and its Extravaganza Tournament concluded with championship matches in all divisions on Sunday. And championship day was especially noteworthy for twin brothers Parker and Nelson Shoemaker and their younger sister Haizel.
Parker and Nelson are teammates with the under 10 Grocery Express team while Haizel plays for the under nine Northside Volkswagen squad. They are the offspring of Nicole and Steven Shoemaker of the Sault.
Both teams made it to the championship game in their respective divisions. The twins were part of a 2-1 victory to win the U10 division while Haizel won player of the game as her team lost 5-3 to Copper Cliff in the U9 title tilt.
Will Nelles, Ted Atkinson and Brad Notte are coaches for Grocery Express while Justin Pino is the bench boss for Northside Volkswagen.
