Silver for DK Designs
DK Designs, a novice major tier 1 team from the Soo Pee Wee Hockey League, returned home as silver medal winners from a recent tournament in Powassan.
Headed by coach Ryan Corcoran, DK Designs had a record of 2-1 in round-robin play before defeating the Nickel City Sharks 5-3 in the semi-finals.
DK Designs then lost to Timmins by a narrow 4-3 margin in the championship game.
I had the privilege of watch some of these tournament games, to see Novice players all getting quality puck touches was a pleasure to watch . Players getting the puck, taking a few strides and passing up , or over to the week side, or passing it back to the point was fantastic. The best of all were all the smiling faces, so exited to be a part of their tournament weekend.
