Six Soo teams win games

Six Sault Ste. Marie-based teams — representing six separate hockey leagues — all won their games on Friday night.

Playing at home, the first-place Soo Thunderbirds cuffed the Powassan Voodoos 6-3 in Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League action.

Playing at home, the Soo Firehawks upset the first-place Traverse City Hounds 5-4 in overtime in Midwest Jr. Hockey League action.

At Espanola, the first-place Batchewana Attack edged the Rivermen 4-3 in Canadian International Hockey League action.

At Flint, the Soo Eagles nipped the Michigan Warriors 5-4 in overtime in North American Hockey League action.

At Bowling Green, the Lake Superior State University Lakers upended the Falcons 3-1 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action.

At Mississauga, the Western Conference-leading Soo Greyhounds outscored the Steelheads 7-5 in Ontario Hockey League action.
