Smooth Rock Falls main camp
The new Smooth Rock Falls Thunder of the Thunder Bay Jr. B Hockey League will be holding its main tryout camp on the Sept. 26-27 weekend.
Thunder general manager Cory Hofferd told HockeyNewsNorth.com that the Saturday skate will be held from 6-8 p.m. and the Sunday session from 10 a.m. to noon in Smooth Rock Falls.
The Thunder will play a 36-game regular season consisting of six road trips and six home weekends with games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The winner of the league will attend the Keystone Cup, to be held in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Cost to play for the Thunder will be $2,500 which includes all meals, transportation and accommodations for road games. Helmets, gloves and pant shells will also be covered by the player fee.
“Smooth Rock Falls is a hockey crazy town and we have no doubt that fans will be supporting the team by filling the rink, making for an exciting atmosphere for the players,” Hofferd told HockeyNewsNorth.com.
