Soo Eagles to Washington Capitals
Chris Waterstreet, a swooping left winger who played for Soo Eagles of the North American Hockey League in 2012-2013, will attend a National Hockey League tryout camp next month.
A 1992 birth-year, the 6-foot-5, 235 pound Waterstreet has been invited to the Washington Capitals rookie camp, his Chicago-based advisor David Maciuk of J.D. Maciuk Consulting confirmed to HockeyNewsNorth.com.
Waterstreet had 15 goals, 9 assists, 24 points in 58 regular-season games with the NAHL Eagles back in 2012-2013.
Watersteet moved up to the Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association level with SUNY-Oswego in 2013-2014.
In 27 games as a freshman at Oswego, Waterstreet had 5 goals, 4 assists, 9 points and 43 penalty minutes.
