Soo pee wee minor reps win, lose

You win some, you lose some. As in the case of the Soo Greyhounds pee wee minor AAA rep hockey team that split of pair of games with the visiting Saginaw Spirit pee wee major AAA rep squad on Saturday.

The teams halved a pair of one-goal games with the Soo dropping the opener 4-3 before winning the night cap 3-2.

The local pee wee minor AAA reps include a pair of former Soo Greyhound Ontario Hockey Leaguers as part of the coaching staff.

Dave Doucette, who played in 42 OHL games with the Greyhounds as a defenseman during the 1989-1990 season, is head coach of the pee wee minors.

Also on the coaching staff is former star winger Jeff Toms, who played three OHL seasons with the Greyhounds and was part of the 1993 Memorial Cup championship team. Toms, who scored 52 goals in his final season with the Greyhounds in 1993-1994, went on to play in 237 games in the National Hockey League before heading to Europe for several more years of playing.
