There is Junior ‘A’ hockey action on both sides of the St. Mary’s River tonight.

Looking to lock down first place in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League standings, Soo Thunderbirds will play host to the North Bay Trappers in a 7:30 p.m. start at Essar Centre.

With three games to play in the NOJHL regular season, the Thunderbirds have 93 points — which are 10 more than second-place Kirkland Lake Gold Miners.

Kirkland Lake does have three games in hand on the Soo, however.

Meanwhile, Soo Eagles are home to the Port Huron Fighting Falcons in a 7:30 p.m. start at Pullar Stadium.

With 11 games to play in the North American Hockey League regular season, the Eagles are just two points out of the fourth-and-final playoff spot in the North Division.
