TC North wins it all
Team Canada Black — with all 17 of its 2011 birth year hockey players from various towns in northern Ontario — returned home from Vaughan, Ont. as champions of the recent Sports Illustrated Prospects Challenge.

Coached by Scott Cooper of Sudbury, Team Canada Black won all four of its round robin games and then skated to victory in the semi final and championship matches to emerge as winners from the AA level of the 2011 birth year category. Team Canada Black was one of 11 teams in its division, including three from the USA.
As true north representatives, Team Canada Black was made up of players from Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Copper Cliff and Temiskaming Shores. The Scott Cooper-coached squad outscored its opponents by a 33-11 margin in posting a perfect record of 6-0 at the prestigious event.
Jackson Duclos was the scoring star for Team Canada Black (North) with 11 goals in the six games. Kohen Zubyck and Bailey Scott potted six goals apiece while Gavyn Nevers netted five, Tyler Diluzio delivered four and Koewan Cooper clicked for three. Between the pipes, Liam Restoule and Owen Whitehead each posted 3-0 records.
Members of the winning Team Canada Black (North) champions include skaters Jackson Duclos, Kohen Zubyck, Bailey Scott, Gavyn Nevers, Tyler Diluzio, Koewan Cooper, Chris Swartz, Kaleb Pitre, Linden Bertoli, Miko Rivard, Marc Corston, Riely Deplonty, Carson Mick, Jeremy Jarratt and Hayden Horbul and goalies Liam Restoule and Owen Whitehead.

Excellent tournament well put on watched on my TV between work I’m proud of all the kids they had some tough aponents but I am little biased my grandson was koewan Cooper proud grandfather
