Timmins to Chatham
Forward Ian Lachance, who led the Timmins Majors and the Great North Under 18 Hockey League in scoring in 2023-2024, has signed with the Chatham Maroons of the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League, Hockey News North has confirmed.
The 6 foot 2 Lachance potted 26 goals, 48 assists, 74 points in 35 regular season games for Timmins in ’23-24 and added five points in six playoff outings as the Majors skated to the GNU18HL championship.
With a 2007 birth date, Lachance was subsequently selected by the Saginaw Spirit in the second round of the 2024 Ontario Hockey League supplemental draft.
In signing with Chatham, Lachance is poised to play for Saginaw’s affiliate team.
It’s a loss for the home town Rock.
