U14 Hounds are top dogs
A team from Sault Ste. Marie has emerged as champions in their age division from among the 19 entries that took to the ice for the recent Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs AAA Classic Hockey Tournament.
The under 14 AAA Soo Jr. Greyhounds went 4-0 in the round robin with victories over the host Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs as well as the Southern Tier Admirals, Richmond Hill Coyotes and Burlington Eagles.
More success would follow as the U14 Jr. Greyhounds went on to a quarter-final win over the Brampton 45’s, a semi final overtime triumph over the Mississauga Senators, and in the title tilt, a 2-1 OT verdict over the Toronto Red Wings.
Terry Chitaroni is the head coach of the Jr. Greyhounds and the 2008 birth year players are Hayden Joseph, Cameron Kontulainen, Nathan Dupuis, Espen Escasa, Owen Sanderson, Liam Watson, Aiden Atkinson, Koen Manchulenko, Cole Wreggitt, Luca Blonda, Gavin Killoran, Brock Chitaroni, Danny MacDonald, Brady Real, James Elliott, Nik Rossetto, Sebastien Brassard, and Cam Ingram.
