U16 AA Jr. Hounds are hot
Four straight wins on the weekend have solidified the Soo U16 AA Jr. Greyhounds lead atop the standings of the Northern Ontario Hockey Association’s eight-team U18 AA program. The U16 AA Greyhounds now have a record of 17-4-3 within NOHA regular season play.
• The U16 AA Jr. Hounds began the weekend road trip with a 2-1 win over the Nickel City U18 AA Sons. Caleb Walker netted a goal and an assist and Pete Gartshore was the winning goalie.
• In their second outing against the U18 AA Sons, the Soo scored a resounding 5-1 victory. Deago Campagna had a goal and two assists and Cash Rowswell earned the win between the pipes.
• Then came a 3-1 triumph over the U16 AA Sons. Caleb Walker netted a goal and an assist with Pete Gartshore in the net for the U16 AA Jr. Hounds.
• Capping off the weekend for the Soo was a 3-0 blanking of the U16 AA Sons. Cash Rowswell posted the shutout and both Sam Caruso and Callum Peterson had a goal and an assist for the U16 AA Hounds.
Updated scoring statistics for the Soo crew show Deago Campagna atop the chart with 14 goals, 13 assists, 27 points followed by Caleb Walker at 13-8-21 and Sam Caruso with 6-10-16 totals.
