Formidable Attack
Batchewana Attack is establishing itself as the powerhouse of the new Canadian International Hockey League.
Almost perfect, the Attack leads the CIHL with a record of 25-0-1.
Batchewana, which captured the recent CIHL showcase tournament that was held in Kalkaska, is led by twin-brother scoring leaders Darian Pilon and Drake Pilon.
Darian has 13 goals, 22 assists, 35 points and Drake has 11-18-29 totals.
Next up on the Attack scoring chart are three more forwards — Rob Delury at 9-18-27, Nate Harris at 12-12-24 and Jacob Palmerio at 14-7-21.
From a workhorse standpoint, 1998 birth-year defenceman Adam Baggs has played in all 26 of Batchewana’s games to date.
ESPANOLA 3, SUDBURY 1
In CIHL action from Friday, the Espanola Rivermen edged the visiting Sudbury Royals 3-1.
Andrew Demarco, Brandon Major and Jason Borer, with an empty-net goal, scored for Espanola.
Jordan Piette replied for the Royals, who got 38 saves from Jake MacTaggart.
