Canadian International Hockey League president Tim Clayden has confirmed a revised schedule of games for this weekend.

According to the CIHL boss, all weekend games involving the Collingwood Ice, Colborne Hawks, Milton Battle Arts Cobras and Toronto Jr. Hockey Academy have been cancelled.

“None of the four teams have insurance to be on the ice for games and/or practices,” said Clayden. “The CIHL is advising all teams and players to stay off the ice until insurance of the said teams can be confirmed.”

As such, the CIHL has revised its schedule for this weekend.

Friday, 7:30 p.m. Kalkaska Rhinos @ Batchewana Attack

Friday, 7:30 p.m. Sudbury Royals @ Espanola Rivermen

Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Kalkaska Rhinos @ Espanola Rivermen

Saturday, 7 p.m. St Charles Spirit @ Batchewana Attack

Sunday, 3 p.m. Kalkaska Rhinos @ St Charles Spirit

What you think about “CIHL revises weekend schedule”

  1. The Greater Sudbury Royals have had ups and downs but we will continue to support them in this venture. Growing pains are part of any new venture. Having said this the Southern teams need to be on board with the proper insurence for the kids.

  2. I’m hearing that the southern teams in the cihl don’t have insurance therefore they games have been cancelled any truth to this

  3. Just asking if the CIHL is better off with focus on Northern Ontario and Michigan instead of the Southern Ontario with there so many teams? A merger with one of the Michigan junior leagues is that feasable at all RR?

  4. The CIHL has contracted the firm Jardine Lloyd Thompson of Toronto to act as its insurance carrier.

“Jardine Lloyd Thompson is very excited and proud to be partnering with ‎CIHL Hockey to provide the coverage and comprehensive insurance protection for the players, teams, and the league.”
