CIHL Thanksgiving weekend

It’s a full plate of activity in the new Canadian International Hockey League this Thanksgiving weekend.

St. Charles Spirit actually began the long weekend of play on Thursday with a 6-2 win over the Kalkaska Rhinos, a Michigan-based independent team that is coached by retired National Hockey League enforcer and erstwhile fan favourite Krzysztof Oliwa.

Here is the remainder of the CIHL weekend schedule:

Friday (today)

Noon – Colborne Hawks @ Milton Cobras

7 p.m. – Kalkaska Rhinos @ Greater Sudbury Royals (exhibition)

7:30 p.m. – St. Charles Spirit @ Espanola Rivermen

Saturday

3 p.m. – Kalkaska Rhinos @ Espanola Rivermen (exhibition)

3:45 p.m. – Batchewana Attack @ Greater Sudbury Royals

8 p.m. – Colborne Hawks @ Milton Cobras

8:15 p.m. – Collingwood Ice @ Toronto Jr. Hockey Academy

Sunday

2 p.m. – Toronto Jr. Hockey Academy @ Collingwood Ice

Monday

Noon – Milton Cobras @ Toronto Jr. Hockey Academy

1 p.m. – Greater Sudbury Royals @ Batchewana Attack

2 p.m. – Colborne Hawks @ Collingwood Ice

  1. Was at the game last nite … and A. Hester put on quite the show for the Spirit scoring the hatty. The Kelkaska team is a team of hard workers that is obviously well coached my Mr. Oliva!
