Ottawa Jr. Senators of the Central Canada Hockey League will play host to the 24th annual Eastern Canada Jr. A championships in 2018.

The Senators were awarded the event by the Eastern Canada championship selection committee, edging out the CCHL’s Pembroke Lumber Kings.

“Both bids were excellent and the committee did extra time in reviewing them before reaching the decision for recommendation to the CCHL board of governors, who approved Ottawa as the hosts for 2018,” noted CCHL commissioner Kevin Abrams.

The 2018 event will mark the first time that the Jr. Senators have hosted the Eastern championships. Previous CCHL hosts were Brockville (1997 and 2010), Pembroke (2000 and 2006) Cornwall (2003 and 2015) and Kanata (2012).
