Sudbury Royals have a new coach

Richard Piette has been officially installed as the new head coach of the Sudbury Royals of the Canadian International Hockey League.

Piette confirmed to HockeyNewsNorth.com by e-mail today that he will take on the bench boss duties with the Royals.

Trevor Blanchard began the 2014-2015 season as head coach of the Royals but recently parted ways with the organization.

A long-time minor hockey coach in the Sudbury area, Piette also has prior experience as an assistant coach in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.
