Soo Jr. Greyhounds of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League continued their winning ways this weekend with a pair of home ice victories. And of the many players who stood out, Coulson Bell did particularly well.

Bell scored the overtime winner on Saturday as the Jr. Greyhounds upended the first place Sudbury U18 Wolves by a 2-1 margin. And Bell capped the weekend today with two goals and three assists as the Jr. Hounds cuffed the Kapuskasing Flyers by an 11-3 margin.

A hustling, relentless forward with a 2007 birth date who played in the Great North for the Sudbury Under 16 Nickel Capitals in 2022-2023, Bell now has 11 goals, 10 assists, 21 points in 23 league games for the Jr. Hounds this season.

The weekend sweep ran the Jr. Hounds winning streak to nine straight games and boosted their record to 12-10-2 in what has become a hotly contested Great North.

The top five teams in the seven member Great North — the U18 Wolves, Timmins Majors, New Liskeard Cubs, North Bay Trappers and the Jr. Hounds — all have records above the .500 mark.
