Bertrand to EL Vikings

Small size forward Anthony Bertrand is moving up from the Sudbury U16 Nickel Capital Wolves of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League to the Elliot Lake Vikings of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, Hockey News North has confirmed.

The speedy Bertrand, who is 5-foot-7, 160 pounds with a 2007 birth date, overcome an injury to click for nine goals, four assists, 13 points in 23 games for the U16 Nickel Capital Wolves in 2022-2023, regular season and playoffs included.

Bertrand will join his former Sudbury teammate Carter Carriere as Elliot Lake’s two 2007 birth year players.

Carriere, who signed with the NOJHL Vikings earlier this summer, connected for six goals, 10 assists, 16 points in 31 Great North games for the U16 Nickel Capitals in ’22-23, regular season and playoffs included.
