Bradley Moore, who led the Great North Under 18 Hockey League in goals scored during the 2021-2022 regular season, is poised to move up to the Superior International Jr. Hockey League effective the 2022-2023 campaign.

Moore, who captained the Timmins Majors and tallied 19 goals in 23 regular season games in the Great North in ’21-22, has committed to the SIJHL’s Thunder Bay North Stars for ’22-23.

And Moore, who added two goals in four playoff games for Timmins to cap the 2021-2022 season in the Great North loop, said he is “very excited to get to the next level” in the SIJHL with Thunder Bay. He will also attend Lakehead University in Thunder Bay beginning in the fall.

A 2004 birth year forward, Moore noted that the North Stars are a “well respected organization (of which) I have heard nothing but great things.”

Thunder Bay finished in fourth place during the 2021-2022 regular season and then swept the Wisconsin Lumberjacks in the first round of the SIJHL playoffs only to then lose to the Kam River Fighting Walleye in four straight games in the semi-finals.

As for Timmins and what it accomplished during the past Great North campaign, the Majors started very slowly but finished with a frantic flourish en route to a 9-14-2 regular season record before going 1-1-2 in the playoff tournament and losing to the eventual champion Soo Jr. Greyhounds in the semi-final match.
