Rookie sensation Camaryn Baber scored his 22nd and 23rd goals of the season and Soo Greyhounds chased North Bay Trappers starting goalie Joel Rainville en route to a 5-1 triumph over the visitors in Great North Midget Hockey League action from Friday.

The two teams meet again tonight at 7:00 and on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.

Both teams had entered weekend play tied for first place with 37 points apiece with North Bay holding two games in hand on the Soo.

Noah Boman, Nolan Ford and league scoring leader Lucas Theriault also found range for the Greyhounds while defenseman Jake Gravelle tallied the lone goal for the Trappers.

With so many high-end players on both teams, a keen observer at Friday’s game was Richie Metro, who is the associate coach with the Lake Superior State Lakers of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
