U18 Hounds home to Timmins

Soo Jr. Greyhounds will put their unbeaten record on the line this weekend when they play host to the Timmins Majors in Great North Under 18 Hockey League action. The Soo has a perfect record of 5-0-0 while Timmins has won four straight games to improve to 5-2-1 on the season.

The teams will face off on Saturday evening at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 11:00, with both games at John Rhodes Community Centre.

The Jr. Greyhounds have several skaters who are among the top scorers in the Great North led by Hudson Chitaroni with five goals, four assists, nine points and Jacob Smith with 3-6-9 numbers. Then comes Lucas DiBerardino, Gabe Palumbo, Deven Jones-McDonald, Harley Wardell and Candon O’Neill with seven points apiece and Cole Cond and Carter Huckson both with six.

Meantime, Patrice Lafontaine of Timmins is second in league scoring with five goals, five assists, 10 points. Other Major performers for Timmins to date have been Shawn Gagnon with three goals, five assists, eight points and Ian Lachance with 1-7-8 totals.
