Jr. Hounds off and running
Soo Jr. Greyhounds completed a three-game road sweep today by upending the Timmins Majors to improve their record to 6-0-0 in the early going of the Great North Midget Hockey League season.
Coach Jamie Henderson and his Jr. Greyhounds began the weekend with a win over the New Liskeard Cubs before upending Timmins in back-to-back triumphs.
It has been a goal-scoring explosion for the Soo midgets to date. The Jr. Greyhounds have out-scored their opponents 37-20 through the six games.
Devin Mauro leads the Soo scoring chart with eight goals. Ethan Esposito has tallied five times, Gavin Ritacco has four and Michael Chaffay, Dylan Forsyth and Conner Toms have three goals apiece.
