Bertrand, who has been an assistant coach with the Under 18 Wolves for the past three seasons, takes over the Under 16 Wolves as the bench boss. His staff of assistants with the U16 Wolves will include Marc Tardif. Bertrand and Tardif worked alongside each other as assistants with the U18 Wolves.

Bertrand, who has been coaching for more than 20 years, also spent time as an assistant in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League with teams in Sudbury and Espanola. He told Hockey News North that he figured it was time to move up and become a head coach.

“I decided it was time to go out on my own and run my own team with some help from some other great guys as well,” Bertrand relayed to Hockey News North.

A personable individual, Bertrand works full time as a northern Ontario regional sales rep for Moosehead Brewery.
