Majors are on the move

Timmins Majors are one of three teams in the seven member Great North Under 18 Hockey League with a winning record as November nudges towards December.

Winners of three of their past four games that include victories over the Sudbury U18 Wolves, Soo Jr. Greyhounds and North Bay Trappers, Timmins will take a record of 6-3-1 through 10 outings into its next league action, which is a two-game home set on the December 2-3 weekend.

The U18 Wolves of Sudbury and the Trappers of North Bay are the other two teams in the league that have winning records.

As for Timmins, five players have been offensive sparks for the Majors to date.

Ian Lachance leads the Timmins scoring parade with eight goals, five assists, 13 points. Right behind Lachance are Edan Etheridge with four goals, six assists, 10 points, Evan Katic with 4-5-9 numbers, Travis Poan with eight points that include seven goals, and Teegan Bertrand with 4-3-7 totals.

Of note, Katic and Etheridge are among the youngest players in the Great North U18 HL with 2008 birth dates.
