Playing four games in five days could not stop the Timmins Majors from going on a winning streak for the ages. The Majors won all four of the games to move into sole possession of sixth place among the eight teams of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League.

Majors rookie head coach Kevin Walker told Hockey News North that leadership and character are going a long way for his team.

“I’ve loved the leadership from our captain (Bradley Moore),” Walker exclaimed. “We’ve shown great character to find a way to win in a very condensed week and guys out of the lineup. We look forward to keeping it rolling into this week.”

Timmins, which now has a record of 8-13-2 following the four straight wins — two over the Kapuskasing Flyers and one over both the New Liskeard Cubs and Sudbury U16 Nickel Capitals — has a home and home series slated for this weekend against New Liskeard.

Aforementioned forward Bradley Moore (in photo above by Thomas Perry) leads the Majors scoring chart with 17 goals, five assists, 22 points. Tristan Bouchard is next with 6-14-20 totals followed by Thomas Beard with 9-10-19 numbers and Blake Ferron with 7-18-15 totals.

Then there is 15-year old rookie forward Travis Poan who has seven goals in his last three games for eight on the season. Ryan Armitage also has eight goals thus far.

As for the current winning streak, the last time the Majors won four games in a row was way back during the 2008-2009 season.
