Majors go for Walker

Homegrown product Kevin Walker will serve as the head coach of the Timmins Majors of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League for the 2021-2022 season.

Majors general manager Ron Holmes confirmed the appointment of Walker.

The soon to be 27-year old Walker had been an assistant coach with the Majors under former bench boss Brandon Perry, who recently took over as coach and general manager of the Timmins Rock of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

Walker played in the Great North for the under 18 Majors before a four year NOJHL career as a top defenseman with the erstwhile Abitibi Eskimos.

While playing for the beloved Eskimos, Walker progressed to become team captain.
