Timmins Majors did not win any of the three games they played against the Soo Jr. Greyhounds this weekend. But the visiting Majors twice forced overtime to come away with two hard-earned points from a rugged road trip.

A Sunday sizzler ended the three-game, Great North Midget Hockey League weekend set with the Soo scoring a 6-5 overtime decision.

Ethan Esposito’s third goal of the game was the overtime winner as the Soo prevailed with a 6-5 victory.

Devin Mauro also had a big game for the Jr. Greyhounds with a pair of goals. Tyson Doucette added the other marker for the Soo.

Desmond Brazeau paced Timmins with a pair of goals and Landon Deforge, Mason Berthiaume and Harry Clark also tallied for the Majors.

Thus, the Jr. Greyhounds came away from opening weekend with six points from a record of 3-0-0.

But Timmins also gained from taking the Soo to overtime twice and the Majors thus begin the season with two points from a record of 0-1-2.
