Nickel Caps to Voodoos
He is staying in the north to play. High scoring forward Caden Dubreuil is moving up from the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League to the Powassan Voodoos of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.
A power size skater at 6 feet, 190 pounds, Dubreuil netted 18 goals, 19 assists, 37 points in 30 games for the U18 Nickel Capitals in 2022-2023, regular season and playoffs included.
Voodoos general manager Chris Dawson has known Dubreuil for a long time.
“Caden is a northern player who I have had the privilege to watch grow at the rink since he was 10,” Dawson said of the 2006 birth year forward. “I was really impressed with his development this past season and the improvement in his skating.”
