Prospects of the Great North

On average, there are 12 to 15 players from the Northern Ontario Hockey Association’s Great North league who become picks every year at the annual Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.

With that in mind — and with input from trusted sources in and around the the OHL — following is a Hockey News North list of 2009 birth players from the NOHA who could be taken at this weekend’s 15 round, priority selections process.

Please keep in mind that all of the players on the following list may not be taken. Just as there are players who are not listed below who could be picked.

FORWARDS: Nico Bossio, Wyatt Jarratt, Adam Pszeniczny and Jacob Vincent of the Soo Jr. Greyhounds; Grady Dale, Ty Dubreuil and Owen Smith of the North Bay Trappers; Theo Bourdon-Lemoyne of the Kapuskasing Flyers; Mikael Guerin of the Sudbury Jr. Wolves.

DEFENSEMEN: Andrew Aitkens, Dreyon Boissoneau, Anthony Carbone and Frankie Reda of the Soo Jr. Greyhounds; Carter Brownlee of the North Bay Trappers; Tanner Morris of the Sudbury Jr. Wolves.

GOALIE: Gavin Zuccato of the Soo Jr. Greyhounds.
